BUILD CAPTAIN'S
FIRST VISIT

Build Captain - M/Y Percheron

My first visit to Cantiere Delle Marche Shipyard was at the end of 2011. It was a short visit to meet the personnel on board the construction of the Darwin Class 86’ hull No. 2, as well as to see the progress in the construction of the yacht. I must say the experience was fantastic! I could not speak higher of the professionalism and expertise of all the personnel on board the project.

The yard itself was of one of the highest standards I have seen. It was kept extremely neat and clean with plenty working space. The production programme was up to date with well kept records. I couldn’t have been more impressed in the way the production was being managed. In our short time at CDM, we had a lot to cover within a few days.

If it was not for the well organised and comfortable working environment as well as the experienced and well prepared personnel, we would have not experienced such a smooth and productive visit. From selecting fabrics to heavy equipment and everything in between, everything we set out to cover was achieved with smiling faces on both sides. The expertise within each department at CDM led me to know, when leaving at the end of our visit, that the future yacht that I was to Captain was in the hands of great team of yacht builders.
